With the New Year now upon us, there’s no better time to update your website and start making some positive changes to your online presence. And, it’s really not difficult to make a big difference in how effective your website is. Sometimes, the biggest changes are made by paying attention to the smallest details.

For instance, a continuing marketing trend for 2019 is content marketing. What is content marketing? Well, it’s a method of reaching your clients and potential customers through the sharing of blog posts and articles, videos, podcasts, e-books, whitepapers and more to encourage them to take the next step in the awareness ladder. All customers are not created equal, so creating landing pages and content geared to their needs is important.

You don’t need to go to great lengths to update your website. There are several ways to make a big impact – one of them is through blogging – 2.7 million blog posts are published everyday (Source). Adding a blog post can help your search engine ranking as well as drive visitors to your website, thus increasing the possibility for conversion. However, there are other ways that require even less effort (mostly) than that – incorporate keywords into your existing content, making sure your content is well written and more. Check out the infographic below on 7 ways you can update your website and help your business reach new heights this year:

As you can see, many of these suggestions to update your website don’t require a lot of time and effort. In fact, you can probably do most of these without needing to hire a web developer, if you maintain your own website. If not, you can certainly edit your content and have them copy and paste it into your site – ultimately, it’s not that hard.

Try some of these out and I’ll bet you see a difference almost immediately. If not, give it some time – it’s always better (and more profitable) to play the long game. And, once you make your edits, don’t forget to have Google (and Bing) crawl your site again so that their index gets updated. Google and Bing Webmasters and Google Analytics are all free tools that can help your site rank better, so start using them!
